Salary: £52,806 to £60,705 per annum (inclusive), with the potential to progress to £67,357 (including London allowance)

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) stands as a leading institution in social sciences globally, attracting an international student body. The Student Wellbeing Service plays a vital role in enhancing the student experience, ensuring every individual feels part of an inclusive, supportive, and scholarly community.

We are looking for a Head of Counselling Service to lead a dedicated and skilled team of counsellors in achieving our objectives. This role involves collaborating with the Deputy Head of Student Services (Wellbeing) to implement a strategic vision for student wellbeing across the School and within the Student Wellbeing Service (SWS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the counselling services available to students and staff.
  • Oversee the development, organisation, and management of these services to ensure they meet the needs of our community.
  • Work in partnership with the Deputy Head of Counselling Service and other managers to deliver an integrated range of support services.

The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced clinician with a comprehensive understanding of various counselling models. An honours degree and relevant post-clinical qualifications are required, along with the capability to innovate and ensure quality service delivery.
